RWF '25 raises £33,000 for Joining Jack

Our biggest event since the first, smashsed last year's total for Team JJ!

WOW! What a fantastic day at the 2025 HW Moon Toyota Wigan Run Wigan Festival!

A SOLD OUT Half Marathon and 5k, and almost capacity Family Mile saw just short of 3,000 runners taking part on Sunday - our biggest numbers since the inaugural event - and hundreds of supporters at our sunnyish Event HQ. And we are absolutely buzzing to confirm that we have raised an incredible £33,000 for our organising charity Joining Jack!

We are so thrilled to have raised another amazing total for Team JJ in such challenging times and that's all down to you! Well done and thank you to all our fabulous runners, supporters, fundraisers, volunteers, sponsors and event partners! Thank you for taking part, supporting and being part of another awesome day!

Despite some chilly temperatures early on, the sun came out for the 1500 runners in our flagship Half Marathon race, 1,000 runners in the 5k and 475 Family Milers. We also had lots of food and drink and live entertainment over in the Bandstand at Mesnes Park, our new home now for a hat-trick of Run Wigan Festivals is a huge hit.

Sunday's event saw our final entrant - no 1,500 Thomas Kneller from Leigh Harriers - first man back in the Half Marathon race while Serena Walker from Wigan Harriers, our champion from 2024 defended her title in style as first HM runner back. In the 5k we had a brand new winner in the shape of Rome Doisneau from Leeds City Athletic Club, while Rachel Sidebotham from Wigan Harriers went one better than 2024, to take the 5k title. Our first three men and women in the Half Marathon and 5k picked up vouchers from our prize sponsors The Endurance Store.

A massive well done to all our Age Category and Club winners too in some fantastic times which earned them an email for Team JJ this week with the option of a free entry to September's Wigan 10k or next year's RWF.
